What is a pen-based computer and what are the advantages of using it?
A pen-based computer is a fully functional computer that uses a pen and touch screen in place of a keyboard and mouse.
Will PPMS- EMR programs work with my PDA?
Yes, most PPMS- EMR programs will work with your PDA, please contact us for specifics.
Will I be able to access my patient information remotely from my PDA when I am at the hospital etc…?
Yes. As long as you have the proper wireless equipment for your PDA and access to the Internet.
How secure is my patient information while being accessed remotely from the PDA?
That depends on the level of security in place on your internal network.
How do I convert my existing paper documents into EMR?
You can convert your existing paper documents into EMR through one of the PPMS –EMR programs, for example D-Chart. The most efficient way is to scan in your “historical data” into one of the PPMS-EMR programs.
How often will Phy-Med perform updates to my software?
Software and database updates are done automatically every time there is an update.
Is hiring a technical staff required when using a PPMS-CPS ( link toPPMS-CPS page)?
No, most practices do not need a dedicated technological person, but do need a designated contact.
